Preferred Master Plan Option

The consultation period on the Preferred Option ended on 11 August 2008. Approximately 1,500 responses were received on the Preferred Option, which included:

• Support for the Tilbury Riverfront and Bata Village proposals;
• Support for the Vision and Area Wide Strategies of the Master Plan;
• Support for the regeneration and public realm enhancements at Tilbury, East Tilbury and Chadwell St Mary centres;
• Support for a new Regional Park at Tilbury Marshes;
• Concerns about opportunity for new jobs within the Master Plan area;
• Concern about the lack of available land within the Master Plan for Port expansion; and
• Concerns over Neighbourhood Renewal at Chadwell St Mary.

All comments were reviewed and will be used to help finalise the Master Plan. From consideration of the comments from previous consultations, the proposals for Tilbury Marshes have changed. Further details can be found on the Revised Preferred Option page of this website.
